European Commission Directorate General for Research and Innovation has issued a new report on research and innovation (R&I) potentials of the mid- and long-term potential for advanced biofuels.
FNR, the co-ordinator of the ADVANCEFUEL project, attended the 15th international ‘Fuels of the Future’ conference, which took place in Berlin on 22-23 January. The conference is the leading European forum on future mobility, particularly with its focus on alternative fuels and drive technologies.
The European Parliament has voted on its first reading of the revised Renewable Energy Directive, choosing to limit the use of crop-based biofuels and boost advanced biofuels. The draft legislation says that crop-based biofuels should not exceed 7% of road and rail fuel, the 2017 consumption level.
To help accelerate the transition to low-emission vehicles, the European Commission released the new ‘Clean Mobility Package’ on 8 November.
MEPs have adopted tighter rules on crop-based biofuels as they look to increase the sustainable use of biomass in the EU.
The ADVANCEFUEL project held its Kick-off meeting at Greenovate! Europe premises in Brussels on 25 September 2017. This first meeting allowed partners to present their roles in the project and discuss synergies between activities.
